Hi! I’m Clara. I grew up on a farm in Natural Bridge, Va. My family raised Purebred Angus cattle and commercial ewes. I attended Virginia Tech for my undergraduate degree in Animal and Poultry Science and Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine for a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Following graduation, I moved to Winchester to my mom’s family farm West Oaks. I enjoy being involved in the farm and have developed my own flock of club ewes and show pigs.
I loved showing and judging livestock in 4-H and college, and have continued to be involved in 4H by helping to coach the Frederick/ Clarke Co. Livestock Judging and Stockman’s teams.
I have been blessed to be able to practice veterinary medicine here in Frederick County and internationally. I have made several trips to Haiti with Christian Veterinary Mission. There we helped train local veterinary agents to be able to diagnose and treat disease in Haitian livestock.
I enjoy practicing on all large animals and have a special interest in beef herd health and reproduction.
